Choosing Your Booklet's Subject To Promote Your Business

kimhillman | 20 July, 2007 19:32

If you're an entrepreneur or small business owner who would like to use a booklet to promote your company, you may find yourself wondering what your booklet's subject should be.

Your booklet could be something as simple as an faq.  For example, let's say you own an automotive repair shop.  Your booklet might address questions that your customers frequently ask, or things that you find yourself repeating to them on a regular basis.  You might also include some helpful tips and suggestions such as how often they should get an oil change or reminding them to get new windshield wipers before the rainy season starts.  If your shop sells windshield wipers and does oil changes, so much the better. You might even have coupons printed in the back of the booklet for savings on oil changes and windshield wipers.

What if you own a real estate agency?  Your booklet's subject might be along the lines of how your clients can get their homes in shape before putting them on the market.  In the back of the booklet you might provide a checklist for your clients so they can keep track of each thing they accomplish toward getting their home ready for the market.

Take a good look at your business and what you offer.  Is there one area of your business that is especially popular?  Is there an area that your customers are particularly concerned about?  Is there something you would like to explain in more detail to your customers than you've been able to face to face?  Perhaps you would like to market a new product or service with your booklet.  Each of these things can be the subject of a booklet.

No matter which subject you choose for your booklet, the most important thing is that the content is useful to your customers.  This is key because it's why your customers will keep your booklet and refer to it over and over again.
